Our contributing editor staff includes some of the world’s best-known and most highly-regarded environmental writers. We work with regular contributing editors as well as guest authors writing on a more infrequent basis. Because our founders have long histories as authors themselves, Simple Earth Media is, from the ground up, an author-centric and author-minded organization. Q: What is Simple Earth Media?

A: Simple Earth Media is more than just an environmentally-conscious new media network: We are a family of websites, podcasts, social media outposts, and other new/social media properties, each unique and supportive of the other member sites. SEM websites cover topics that range from water conservation, green living tips, ecotech gadgets, technology and environmental news, to natural parenting and childrens’ issues and lifestyles.

We’re not just one big company. Each one of our websites was successful and well branded long before coming together under the SEM roof. It’s under this shared roof, that we support each other through social media, Twitter accounts, Facebook fan pages and networking with other writers and website owners.

Q: Why would I want to write for SEM?

One of the major, unique advantages of writing for SEM is that we offer our writers unprecedented social media support. Instead of writing for a blog network that leaves all of the social media work up to you, we take that work out of your hands. In fact, we don’t want you to push your own writing across the Internet in an effort to drive traffic to your article. No more having to Digg, Stumble, Reddit, Buzz or Tweet your own stories in an attempt to earn a reasonable income for your writing. Our writers focus on writing great content, not pushing their articles across the social mediasphere.

Q: What is your payment model?

At SEM, we pay you a flat rate per article based on your qualifications, previous writing experience and passion. We don’t believe in paying great authors coffee money and a promise of decent pay only if and when an article becomes extraordinarily popular. At SEM, you get paid to write, and paid very well by industry standards.

Q: What if I only want to write once in a while?

At SEM, we are always looking for fresh, innovative and new ideas and articles. If you are looking for exposure for yourself, your organization or your cause, then we can help. We welcome guest writers and offer a 100 word bio with links and a headshot at the end of your article. The article will also be pushed through our social media channels, reaching hundreds of thousands of our community members.
